Locomotive Branding on Amul Milk
Amul was the first brand that painted its ad creatives on the engine and not on any other part of the train. RS Sodhi, managing director at Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets the Amul brand, says that “they are always on the lookout for media that is unique as well as value for money for their product advertisements.” The WAP-5 engine has a large surface area and could paint its message more prominently than other engines.
Additionally, Mr. Sodhi says that those advertising on only passenger rakes will be able to cover a single route between two stations. Comparatively, a locomotive is attached to different trains and encompasses a wider geographical area.
Thus Locomotive branding will not only help your brand to reach out to masses but will also register a higher recall value because of the curiosity generated in the minds of the consumers.
